This is a short guide to explain the different lengths of articles we offer.
Remember that people on the internet have a short attention span, therefore, our standard packages go up to 1000 words. If you want longer content, we can definitely help, just contact us here.
We also offer multi-pack packages that combine all three article lengths.
250 Word Articles
Estimated reading time = 2 minutes
To be honest, this is a rather short article. It’s great if your audience has the attention span of a goldfish or just doesn’t like long articles. It’s long enough to make one interesting point with a bit of context.
We do not recommend this article length for blog posts. It is appropriate for posting to social media and for email broadcasts. However, if SEO is important to you, we recommend choosing a longer article.
Good For
– Making a quick point or providing a simple opinion
– Audiences that won’t like reading long posts or articles
– Social media
– Email list broadcasts
500 Word Articles
Estimated reading time = 4 minutes
This remains a relatively short article. With 500 words you can make a few points, develop your arguments and provide some analysis. It’s also close to that magic 5 minute reading time. Getting your audience to stop whatever they were doing for much longer starts to become a challenge and we don’t want your audience getting bored.
Good For
– Pretty much every business
– Educational articles on the majority of topics
– A long email broadcast
– A short blog post
750 Word Articles
Estimated reading time = 6 minutes
This length is great if you want to explore a topic in greater detail without creating something that takes too long to read. With this length you can cover off the majority of a subject while not being so long that your audience feels like they’re reading an essay. At 6 minutes they have enough time to read it in a doctor’s waiting room or at the bus stop.
Note – email broadcasts should generally be below 500 words (ideally around 250). However, you can send out a 750 word article in two parts to create an emails series. The trick is to leave it on a cliff-hanger.
Good For
– In-depth educational articles
– More detailed case studies
– Blog posts
– Multi-part email series
1000 Word Articles
Estimated reading time = 8 minutes
This is the longest article we sell as standard. This length is recommended if you want a detailed analysis while still staying below 10 minutes of reading time for the average person.
This length is also best for SEO because Google generally prefers longer content. However, in content marketing, it’s also important to keep your readers engaged and many people don’t like long articles. Therefore we need to make a compromise, this word count is a good balance between these two factors.
Good For
– In-depth educational articles
– Detailed case studies
– SEO
